Full Professor at UPCT (Department of Economics, Finance and Accounting) since 2018. She holds a Bachelor¿s degree in Business Administration from the University of Murcia (Special Award) and a European Ph.D. with highest honors (cum laude, Extraordinary Award). After a professional period as an investment manager at BBVA, she joined the University of Murcia, where she worked until 2009.
She teaches Financial Accounting, Business Valuation, and Cost Accounting (English group) at undergraduate, master¿s, and doctoral levels. She has three recognized research periods (latest 2014¿2019). Her research lines include corporate disclosure, CSR and sustainability, gender diversity, and corporate governance. She has published numerous articles in SSCI/Scopus-indexed journals and presented over 80 conference papers¿mainly at international venues¿receiving several best paper awards. She has appeared in Stanford¿s ranking of the top 2% most-cited researchers since 2020 and has received, among others, the Special Accésit Award from CEF, the Carlos Cubillo Award, and the Accésit from the Fundación de Estudios Financieros.
She has supervised five Ph.D. theses and delivered seminars at Spanish universities (UAM, UMU, UVA, UV, UGR, among others) and abroad (University of Aarhus, University of Ottawa, Universidad de Antioquía, HEC Montréal). She has participated in six competitive projects and is PI of three national projects on corporate governance and gender diversity (latest 2022¿2025). She was Associate Editor of Spanish Accounting Review (JCR Q3, 2011¿2024) and serves as an evaluator for national and regional research projects; she was a member of the CNEAI commission (Field 8) in 2021 and 2022. She is President of ASEPUC, former national representative at the EAA, and was SIG Officer for Corporate Governance at EURAM.
She has undertaken research stays at the University of Aarhus (Denmark), University of Glasgow (Scotland), University College Dublin (Ireland), and HEC Montréal (Canada), the latter funded by the national Salvador de Madariaga program. In academic management, she has served as Academic Director of the UPCT School of Tourism and as Vice Dean for International Relations at the Faculty of Business Sciences (UPCT).
