MSc in Industrial Engineering (2003). PhD at the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (2003) with the dissertation thesis "Modelling of the wind power fluctuations in large offshore wind farms", directed by Antonio Viedma Robles  and co-supervised by Poul Ejnar Sørensen.

My first research experience was a 3 months traineeship in the Department of General Energy of Paul Scherrer Institut (Switzerland).

Afterwards, I had an "Introduction to Research" grant in the Fluid Mechanics unit of Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena, and then, a 4 years PhD-position in the same unit in which I did my PhD dissertation.

Such PhD was done in cooperation with the Wind Energy department of the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), which is the worldwide most renowned center in topics related with wind energy. This cooperation was done within the Danish research project "PSO Effektfluctuationer fra store havindmølleparker". Such collaboration was possible thanks to several large research stays (more than 15 months) at DTU.

Afterwards, I worked as researcher for the Wind Energy department of the Renewable Energies Research Institute until 2012. Simultaneously, I was hired as Part Time Lecturer by the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) https://www.uclm.es in the Fluid Mechanics unit.

Since 2013 until now I am Associate Professor in the Hydraulic Engineering unit of the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena. I have taught several courses in the MSc in Civil Engineering, MSc in Water and Geotechnical Science & Technology and in the BSc in Civil Engineering.

I have participated as guest professor in Høgskolen i Østfold (Norway), Syddansk Universitet (Denmark) and in the University of Jaen (Spain).

I have been Dean (2018-2022) and Vicedean of International Relations (2016-2018) in the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Mining Engineering (UPCT).

In 2019 and in 2022/23, I have been guest researcher during 3 months and 12 months, respectively, in the "Urban Water Systems" group of the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).

I am member of the Research Group in Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering (Hidr@m). Member of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR).

I have participated in 70 research projects, being research leader in 12 of them. The projects topics have been mainly related with Hydraulic Engineering or Wind Power Integration.

I have authorised 26 articles in journals indexed by the JCR, 72 participation in conferences and in 5 books/chapter of books. According to Scholar Google my h-index is 18 (14 according with Scopus). I have reviewed several articles for different journals like, Journal of Wind Engineering and Industrial Aerodynamics, Energies, Applied Energy, Water or Nature Climate Change

I have supervised two PhD dissertations and 34 Master and Bachelor Thesis.
