With the increasing production of wind power worldwide, power fluctuations have an impact on power system operation and costs. Power systems with high wind penetration give rise to concerns about the adverse effects of wind farms on power operations and their stability. In order to reduce these power fluctuations, a simple wind farm-fuel cell stack hybrid power system has been proposed. Fluctuations have been evaluated through ramp rates and reserve requirements in both systems: the wind farm and the wind farm-fuel cell hybrid system, and they have been compared. The model proposed improves the behaviour of the system in terms of power fluctuations.
