An experimental/computational hybrid method was discussed for estimating the complex permittivity of homogeneous or non-homogeneous material with arbitrary shape by means of an inverse procedure. The inverse calculation method was an evolutionary processs based on genetic algorithms (GA). The results obtained show an excellance convergence to the exact value, improving the accuracy of the Nicholson-Ross method. It was found that the accuracy for this inverse technique was better at 0% and 0.7512%, respectively.
