© 2020 ACM.Detection and treatment of diseases might be one of the most promising fields of application of flow-guided nanocommunication networks. This type of networks can enable new medical developments for health monitoring, vital sign information gathering, and data transmission inside the human body. As these nano-networks might require the introduction of nano-devices in the human circulatory system, it is crucial to investigate feasible network setups that meet the requirements of custom medical applications. Reducing body invasiveness by minimizing the number of nano-devices needed is also an important factor. This paper contributes by formulating and solving a nano-node minimization problem for some medical applications, thus demonstrating the feasibility of this technology.
