Prediction of solid propellant combustion behaviour is of major importance to guarantee its safety use. In this work, the application of some numerical schemes to solve propellant combustion problem is explored. These are MacCormack-TVD and Rusanov numerical schemes, which provide accurate results for other problems such as those described in [Liang et al., 2006] and [Otón-Martinez, R.A. et al., 2015] respectively. They are different from those traditionally used in the studied literature on this subject: The two-step predictorcorrector numerical integration scheme developed by Mac-Cormack or Lax and Wendroff numerical schemes which have been traditionally used to solve the set of coupled and inhomogeneous differential equations [Hoffman and Krier, 1980] and [Gokhale and Krier, 1982]. The computed results are deeply discussed. The influence of considering a modified solid phase momentum equation to assure that void fraction do not decrease under a lower margin is analysed. Finally, some conclusions are drawn.
