The Network Simulation Method is proposed for solving the longitudinal-motion of rods in which a local reduction of density or stiffness has been introduced, simulating a local damage such as crack or corrosion. The subsequent implementation of the corresponding detection leads to an algorithm able to assess the structural health of the rod. The Wavelet Transform is applied to vibration signals in the time domain in forced conditions, showing that the detection of damage and its localization.
