Assessment of teaching: number of five-year periods assessed positively: 1
Assessment of research: number of six-year periods assessed positively: 1

After completing my studies in Chemical and Industrial Engineering, with respective mentions of Extraordinary End-of-Degree Prizes, I was awarded a Graduate Research Assistantship at the Technical University of Cartagena to work on the optimization of wastewater treatment processes. In 2013, I received a University Faculty Training Grant (FPU) to complete my Doctoral Thesis at this university, with the aim of improving the efficiency of microbial fuel cell technology using ionic liquids and nanomaterials. During this time, I had the opportunity to undertake two research stays at the Bristol Bio-Energy Center (University of the West of England), totaling 6 months. In 2016, I obtained the title of International Doctor with a Cum Laude distinction and received the Extraordinary Doctorate Award.

In 2017, I continued my research career at the University of Murcia as a contracted researcher, working on fuel cell technology, and at the University of Cantabria. In the same year, I was awarded the 'Juan de la Cierva-Formación' Grant at the University of Cantabria (Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering), with the opportunity to carry out a 4-month 'José Castillejo' research stay at the University of Hull (UK). During this period, I participated in two European projects (PEMFC-SUDOE and HYLANTIC) aimed at improving hydrogen fuel cell technology through the development of polymeric ionic liquid membranes.

My research interests include the development of bioelectrochemical technologies, the study of green solvents, and the application of ionic liquids in the development of new membrane materials. The research results achieved so far have been published in over 50 articles in indexed journals (JCR, h-index: 20), 12 book chapters published by national and international publishers, and over 40 conference presentations, mostly international. Several of these works have been produced in collaboration with international researchers. I am also a regular reviewer for high-impact journals in the field of Chemical Engineering, indexed in the ISI-JCR database. As part of research projects, I have been involved in technology transfer activities in collaboration with national companies, such as ACCIONA, in the fields of water and energy management.
