Maria-Dolores Cano is a Full Professor in the Department of Information Technologies and Communications at Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (Spain). She has published numerous research works in international journals and conferences in the areas of Quality of Service (QoS)/Quality of user Experience (QoE), Intelligent Transportation Systems, IoT, and security in communication networks. Dr. Cano was awarded a Fulbright grant as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Columbia University (USA). She received the Best Paper Award at the 10th IEEE International Symposium on Computers and Communications in 2005 and the Exemplary Reviewer Recognition by IEEE Communication Letters in 2010, among other recognitions during her career. She is a Senior IEEE member, Editor in the IET Journal on Wireless Sensor Systems, as well as a member of the Technical Program Committee of several IEEE, IFIP, and IARIA international conferences. She has led and participated in numerous national and international research projects and collaborates as a reviewer for international funding research programs and JCR journals. She received the Telecommunications Engineering degree from Universidad Politécnica de Valencia in 2000 and the Ph.D. from Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena in 2004.
