Leandro Juan-Llácer was born in Albatera, Spain, in 1967. He received the B.S. degree in telecommunications engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain, in 1993, and the Ph.D. degree in telecommunications engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, Valencia, Spain, in 1998. He is currently a Full Professor with the Department of Information Technologies and Communications, Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena, Cartagena, Spain. He has been participating in the COST actions 259, 273, 2100, and IRACON. He is an evaluator of National and European projects. He has been a member of several national and international technical scientific commissions. He has published more tan 50 research papers in international journals cited in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR). He has supervised 4 doctoral theses. He has the intellectual property of various programs for the planning of radiocommunication systems that have been exploited by various companies and institutions. He has participated in numerous projects and contracts. He was a founding partner of the spin-off Radiatio Ingeniería S.L. His current research interests include the characterization of radio wave propagation in mobile communication systems and the development of radio planning tools based on Geographical Information Systems (GIS). In 2019, he was awarded by Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena by the Reference Professor Award of the European Higher Education Area (Course 2017/2018) and distinguished as Director of a Master's Final Project, awarded by the Navantia Innovation Award for Submarine Technologies.
