My research career started at the Universidad Autóoma Madrid (UAM). There I got my pHD in Quantum and Computational Chemistry, specifically in electronic calculation of atoms and small molecules, doing two predoctoral stays (1990 and 1991) at the University of Alberta, in collaboration with Prof. Sigeru Huzinaga. After my doctorate (1992) I continued working in the research line of electronic structure calculations, expanding it to electronic correlation methods, such as coupled cluster and configuration interaction, with my postdoctoral stay (1994-95) at the Université Paul Sabatier in the Theoretical Chemistry group of Professor Jean Paul Malrieu. Two years later I did a second post-doctoral stay at the Universidad of Murcia where I began the study molecular dynamics applied to the vibrational dissociation of small van der Waals aggregates, starting the study of the vibrational calculation of small systems. In 2000 I was hired as a professor (TEU) at the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT) where I have expanded the use of classical and quantum hybrid methods of molecular dynamics to the study of the vibrational relaxation of molecules in solution. In addition, because my teaching work is carried out in the area of ¿¿Chemical Engineering, I have collaborated in studies of the application of membrane technology, adsorption techniques and oxidative photodegradation processes, for the removal of organic compounds and metals in liquid effluents. Recently, due to the coordination of the inter-university master's degree in occupational risk prevention, I have collaborated with the machine safety group, on issues related to safety devices on tractors, online solution for the prevention management or use of safety devices, as infrared for security and industrial machines. This collaboration has obtained funding from the CCAA of the Region of Murcia, and has led to a patent, some research articlse, the management of some student's master work and several communications to international conferences. For four years, I started to lead am student work that allowed us to design a synthesis of graphene, with this nanomaterial we have doped some polymers to study its mechanical properties, which have allowed us to obtain financing from the Ministry of Defense, obtaining a B2 patent and present some communications to national and international conferences that in the near future will lead to publications. Throughout these years, I have maintained international collaborations, translated into joint publications with groups from France, Germany, Japan, USA, Canada, as well as other Spanish Universities. My research also supports the positive evaluation of the National Commission for the Evaluation of Investigative Activity of five consecutive six-year periods; from 1989 to 2018 and one six-year innovation. I have participated in research projects since 1989, almost without interruption. In addition, the variety of calls in which we have participated is noteworthy, as well as the diversity of lines of research fruitfully developed during these years.
